ACCESS TO NAVAL BASE RESTRICTED

Due to the tragedy that occurred in the winter at our naval base, there is current restricted access in place. Currently, access to the installation is only available to current DoD ID cardholders and Veterans with a Veteran Health identification Card (VHIC) ID cardholders with either a service connected disability (clearly stated on the card), a purple heart, a POW, or a recipient of the medal of honor. At least one of these categories must be listed on the VHIC under the ID photo.

Veteran Health Identification ID cardholders (VHIC) can sponsor their family to the museum. The Trusted Traveler’s Program means that DoD ID cardholders can escort up to 15 guests in to the installation at the naval air museum, however, they must come to the Visitor Control Center (VCC) located adjacent to the main gate. The guest as well as the service connected veteran will need to fill out a background form and the guest will be issued a one day pass for base access. The service-connected veteran will receive a DBID card that is good for only NAS Pensacola property for one year.
