Barefoot Bungalow at Rookery

The Barefoot Bungalow at Rookery III was super cute. Most importantly, it was very clean. We felt right at home. Pool was great for kids and right next to the bungalow. Outdoor shower was great for rinsing sand off before coming inside. Parking was marked for our place and worked fine until others coming didn’t respect our parking space. The closest beach, Morgantown, did not have a life guard but it was very close by. We had a great time and would rent again.

The place looked exactly as the posted pictures. Everything was clean and organized. The kitchen was stocked with needed items for at home meals. Easy access to the pool. The only con is the drive into town but we were well aware of that from the get go. There is however a local dollar general near by which is convenient. Easy short drive to public beach which was not crowded at all. The place was perfect for our family of 6!

We enjoyed our stay! The house smelled clean and fresh. The amenities were great. The outdoor rinse area was extremely convenient after coming home from the beach everyday. The kids loved the loft beds. We also loved how private the beach was compared to staying closer “in town.” Recommend staying here!

Our family had the best stay with Luxury Coastal Vacations at the Barefoot Bungalow. We felt right at home! Close to the beach and we really enjoyed the pool. Having the grill was great as well.

I came on a family trip and the home was very clean and cozy. We had a total of 9 people 4 adults, 4 children, and 1 infant and there was enough space to move around, so that everyone was comfortable. There was televisions in every room if you have as many people as we did that wanted to watch different things. The also made sure there were enough towels for all of us. The pool was right there once you came out of the back screen door, so the children really enjoyed that. There was a full kitchen of appliance that we were able to use to make breakfast. It was very quiet and relaxing. The only downfall was it looks as though they are building uo the area so there was not many food choices close by, so you had to do a little driving to get food.

We absolutely loved this location! The pictures are spot on and the house was cozy, warm & inviting. We were located directly near the pool house and the screened in patio was perfect. I wish there were more restaurants and grocery stores closer on the island, the nearest Walmart is about 15-20 minutes away. Still not bad, but would’ve been more convenient! The local public beach is Morgantown and it was very clean and quiet. We will definitely be back!

One of my favorite Airbnbs on the beach! We will definitely be back, due to the proximity of the pool with the kids. As a parent, the fenced in pool made us feel very comfortable with the kiddos playing in the sand by the porch. 5 stars hands down!!!

We loved it here at the Rookery. Our unit 6030 was beautifully decorated and so comfortable. Short drive to the beach. We would definitely stay there again.!! Be sure you bring extra supplies after reading the items that are furnished. Great kitchen & plenty of space! Love the screened porch!! Beautiful little community!

Great location to the pool. Our porch door and the gate to the pool was extremely close. The bungalow was the perfect size for our group of 5 adults. The public beach is down the road. We drove our car there, but you can rent golf carts. We loved the screened in porch and outdoor shower. We were a little confused about the guest parking. Since we had 3 cars, we had to purchase a guest parking pass. We thought we could park in any of the guest parking spots, but found out that the only guest parking we could use was at the entrance to The Rookery on the right. We also liked how remote the location is, but still close to some stores. We would definitely stay there again.

This home is beautiful! It was spotless clean, beautifully decorated & had all the amenities you need! The screened in porch fun to sit on in the mornings and evenings. You are RIGHT by the pool which is nice to be able to walk right to it, but if there’s a rowdy group at the pool you’ll hear it. I would suggest adding some board games & putting curtains up over the bedroom windows… light shines in bright in the morning and the outside lights shine in at night…the blinds are nice but light still shines in. My girls loved the bedroom with the lift beds, that room is precious!
My only real disappointment was that the gas grill was NASTY and not clean at all. We had planned on grilling burgers the 4th and when we went to use the grill it was so nasty we couldn’t use it. We rented a golf cart for the week and it was so nice to take it to the beach, you can drive it from the unit along the golf cart trail!
We definitely will keep this home in mind for our next beach trip!

It was a beautiful place, right next to the pool. The only negative was the bugs at sunset, remember bug spray. Going to the beach at night and catching crabs was amazing. Thank you for the beautiful week, loved the home.

The bungalow was perfect for our group of 7. I especially liked the location that was next to pool and half a mile to the beach. The interior of the bungalow was exactly how it was pictured on the site, beautiful. Kitchen was clean and easy to function in. Comfortable beds, stocked with bath towels. Be prepared by bringing all necessary food and condiments you will need and they have updated appliances to prepare with. We are used to staying in vacation resorts so it worked perfect for us. I will request this particular bungalow again when I visit the area.

We loved our stay here! If you have kids plan on driving to the beach but it’s not far and a great private spot. We usually stay in Panama City for our beach vacations and liked this area so much better especially with kids. Tacky jacks 2 was a great place to eat! The entire place was so clean and comfy! The other reviews are right saying you’ll need more supplies like toilet paper/paper towels/trash bags etc but that’s expected with a week stay. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend!!

This cottage was beautiful inside and out. We brought our family of 6 to Fort Morgan for Spring Break. We make a lot of meals on vacation so we were very happy to find plenty of kitchen tools and appliances to meet our needs. Including baking sheets, measuring cups, a crockpot, and pots/pans. There were PLENTY of dishes and silverware for our family.
The cottage was clean and beds were comfortable. They had a body board and beach toys available to use during our stay, which the kids were happy about.
This location is more secluded from Gulf Shores (20 min drive out), but that’s what we wanted. The closest beach was a mile away and it’s beautiful; it was not very crowded during our mid-March stay. The Rookery III is a fun little community and the pool is a nice amenity on non-beach days. We would definitely stay here again. Secluded enough to be peaceful but close enough to still enjoy Gulf Shores. Luxury Coastal Vacations was a responsive host and helpful.

Great place for families - temporary home from home. Clean furnitures, appliances in perfect working conditions, washer and dryer were great to have, pool next door, internet service, all towels and beddings were clean and comfortable. Regardless of weather conditions we truly enjoyed our stay. The 2 parking spaces were perfect for 9 of us and 3 vehicles. See you next time.

This place was great, it looked just like the photos, The place is practically brand new and exceptionally clean. Arrival instructions were emailed a few days before our trip. I had to reach out to host and they were very helpful and responsive in a timely manner. Unit is on a corner and the pool is right out the back door. It was a little difficult to find the unit at first as the house number is on the back side (not street side). Provided linens and bedding was great. The one draw back is there isn't marked parking for this unit. We ended up parking by the pool house which is behind/beside the unit. My husband has mobility issues and was a little difficult to access front door as there is no close parking and you have to walk through sand to get to door. I thought we would have beach access close/from unit and there is not. You have to drive down the road to find beach access. The hot tub in the pool area was not hot. I would definitely recommend this place, so much good here!
